Anne Hathaway's Cottage A mile east of Stratford, and what seems to many a million miles away from its hustle and bustle. Everyone's idea of an English cottage- with its thatched roof, oak framed walls, and so picturesque garden. The childhood home of the wife of William Shakespeare.

The cottage is in fact a 12 roomed farmhouse, dating back to the 16th and 17th century. Full of original features, and furniture has it would have been in Shakespeare's time. Oak floor boards, brick ovens and that bed a 'Hathaway' four-poster.
